Environmental Intern – Communications & Outreach

TIE is seeking a graduate student to assist with the communications and outreach of TIE’s activities and other environmental programs at Tufts and beyond. This person would be expected to manage all of TIE’s communications-related channels and activities, such as: actively source and write content for TIE’s website, news stories, calendar, and bi-weekly newsletter; maintain and populate all of TIE's social media accounts; maintain and expand TIE’s mailing lists and listservs; produce analytic reports on TIE’s communications activities; refresh TIE’s communications strategy; and, cover all TIE events. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in applying and expanding their promotion, marketing and networking skills within the environmental field. This job is best suited to a student who is interested in championing the environmental activities of TIE and other Tufts and non-Tufts environmental organizations. The successful applicant must: demonstrate a great interest in sharing and promoting environmental activities; have good time-management skills; be responsive and swift with receiving and re-distributing current news and events; have some communications and/or public relations experience; and, be familiar with the publication and analytics tools of various social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and website (Wordpress, Dreamweaver, etc.) platforms. Students from any Tufts program may apply, but students with work-study awards are given preference.
8.0 to 10.0 hours per week
$11.00/hour to $13.00/hour, Commensurate with education level and/or experience as well as ability to work independently
